Titans QB Vince Young put on season ending injured reserve

Thumb surgery at the end of the season, Vince Young, but it is unclear if Jeff Fisher can get the peace that has been ordered by Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams.

Fisher said Monday that the juvenile will be on injured reserve, but said that if the General were healthy, would be benched this week against Houston because of his actions after the overtime loss at Washington on Sunday.

Young stormed from the locker room minutes after the Titans ended the game and after match press conference Fischer said Rusty Smith, a newcomer will take its responsibilities.

Asked Monday if Young can mend rift, Fischer said: "He can not play anymore ... We deal with all this when the season is over."

Asked then whether Young will never play for him, Fisher reiterated that "We can deal with it all when the season is over."

Adams, 87, and the founder of the franchise, it seems to be a different idea. He told the Tennessean that the two should solve their own problems and are trained to work together in 2011, when both are in their final year of their contracts.

Adams told The Tennessean: "I just want to get over it It's like you've made a wrong turn and went the wrong way and you were upset because someone made you do it, but when everything has been an accident with you .. You just have to sleep more and better the next day. "

Adams was the driving force of the Tennessee Youth Decision No. 3 overall pick in the 2006 project, and ordered him back as a starter last season after the Titans started 0-6. Young said he "did a good job with us," and that "everyone I talked to them and told them to get things settled and get back to work."

Fisher said he talked with people, but spread to the opinion of the Titans medical staff to delegate. On the question of whether he intended to discipline Young, Fisher said: "This is between me and the player."

Young opposition came from the back to not allowing the game after tearing tendons of the thumb flexors. He stayed away from him most is the third consecutive loss at the end fell 5-5 to Tennessee. Fisher said Young watched the cast is very little room, and was convinced that he could not play.

"He tried to quit," said Fisher. "He went the ball, and I would not put him on the pitch, knowing in advance that he had damage that would be inaccurate to stop him."

Fisher added that Young was never asked to return, saying: "He might have said to others, but said the coach, offensive coordinator or quarterback coach, as far as I'm concerned I think tons of anyone."

But Fisher denied that any frustration is building with Young, who had a similar conflict in 2008 season opener, when he refused to return to the game after the fans booed for dropping out.

Said Fisher: "All I did here, Vince walked in the door to try to help him the best player could be, and stood behind him and defended him from the get go, so it is disappointed."

For this directive Adams "mend his relationship with Young, Fisher said," I think it will at some point in the discussion. I'm not going to put a timetable on it. "He said:" I have one year left in my contract and my hope is that I finish my career here. I have not spoke to Mr. Adams about these issues. "

Smith, third-stringer until forced to act against the Redskins, the Titans' starter while Kerry Collins is recovering from a calf injury, which may take another two weeks. Meanwhile, Fisher said the Titans signed Chris Simms will be the backup. Simms was squad training camp in Tennessee.
